Residents in parts of Germany received positive news in the form of diesel prices dropping below €1.
With oil prices dropping globally in recent weeks, German car club ADAC calculated an average diesel price of €1.128 per litre across Germany on Wednesday, 3.3 cents cheaper than last week’s prices.
In order for prices to decrease further, below the landmark €1 level nationwide “the price of oil would need to drop quite a bit more”, said ADAC spokesman Andreas Hölzel.
Petrol prices also fell, at a slower rate. Last week, motorists in Germany would have been charged an average of €1.275 for a litre of Super E10. By Wednesday that figure fell even further to €1.262.
